Meanings

Conserve : To keep from harm , loss, or change.
Moderate : not extreme.
Conservative : unwilling to accept changes or new ideas.
Moderate : opinions that are not extreme.

O.K. So given these very basic definitions of the two words , what is a moderate-conservative ?
Is this a new word ? Have I made it up ? Well it does not appear in the dictionary in this exact make up ( at least not the ones I looked in) . So here is my view of the term. Opinion here: I believe that a moderate - conservative is a person in political terms that believes that not all that came before is all bad , some of it is good and this part does not need to be thrown out just because new ideas are presented. But, they also believe that some changes are necessary and need to be made. But, as the old saying goes, you don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. What this means is you keep what has been working , the foundation so to speak, then make changes or modifications as needed. We don't need to reinvent the wheel each time. The problems with the current political parties is that so hate each other that they refuse to believe that anything the other party did is of any value at all. This results in political upheaval when a new party is elected, thus resulting in discontent for the people of our country. So... As a moderate-conservative I strive to bridge this conflict between our political parties. Not an easy task. Stay tuned.
